I am so behind in planning spring break! My in-laws are taking the kiddos through Wednesday so I figured why need to plan anything but then I started looking and there are so many fun things to do I wanted to still check some out!

I love taking day trips so our last few days of Spring Break may just include some fun day trips.

Day Trip – Waco

Magnolia Market!

My mother-in-law introduced me to the Magnolia Market at the Silos and it is always a pleasure to go back especially when the weather is nice! They have a big open lawn and even though I am not big on buying things to decorate, I love playing with the kiddos on the lawn and just wandering around the market quickly.

I also love the Mayborn museum. They are run by Baylor University and have fun exhibits for the kiddos. Right now they have a special exhibit on Eric Carle and I can’t wait to go see it – Special Exhibits | Mayborn Museum | Baylor University!

I have heard of the Cameron Park Zoo and I am really excited to go because my two year old is so into animals right now – I think he would have a blast!

Yee Ha! Rodeo Austin

This may not be unique. We all know March Madness when Rodeo Austin is in town. I am sad to admit that in the 18 years (wow that makes me feel really old) that I have lived in Austin, I have only been to the Rodeo a few times. I think my two year old is at a great age to start making it a family tradition. Get those cowboy boots on and ride them on out. He currently loves the show Sheriff Callie so I think this would be right up his alley!! They even have a special wrist band for Spring Break.

There is something for everyone to enjoy at this rodeo, including world-class concerts and livestock shows, ProRodeo events, mutton bustin’, pig races, pony rides, a family-friendly carnival and much more.

Field Trip – Sweet Berry Farms

This is a popular place for pumpkin patches and I really want to go with the boys on Thursday when they are back to pick Strawberries!! If we get enough interest to go to Sweet Berry Farm my Play Date group, I might even set up a field trip where they offer discounts. If not it is free entrance and you pay for what you pick and the activities you choose. I prefer places that offer this kind of set up right now because with a 2 year old he is just not going to want to do everything.

Something Local – Pet Pfest

This is a new activity that happens every spring break! It is called Pet Pfest where the Pflugerville Library has lots of pet themed activities, crafts and more. This year they will have animal adoptions and a pet costume contest as well. Looks like they will be hosting mini horses and Reptile shows too. Something for all the pet lovers in your family.

It is free and pets are welcome. Pet Pfest is held the Wednesday of Spring Break from 2-4 p.m. each year.

Day Trip – New Braunfels

North to Waco now it is time to go south of Austin to New Braunfels. New Braunfels is an amazing little town with a lot of German culture that has lots to do with kiddos.

Have a great Spring Break! Where will you visit? What will you do?
