As a mom, it can be tough to come up with new and exciting ideas for weekend activities that will keep the kids entertained. But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! This blog post will share some fun ideas for things to do both inside and outside the home. So whether you are looking for something educational or just plain fun, we have you covered. So keep reading to learn more!

#1 Create an obstacle course in your backyard

This is an excellent activity for both younger and older kids. You can use things like hula hoops, cones, or chairs to create obstacles that the kids will have to navigate through. To start, lay out all of the objects around the backyard and then have them run through, trying not to knock anything over. This activity is great because it can be done as many times as they want! In addition, you can also make it more challenging by adding a time limit or having them do things like jumping jacks or squats in between obstacles.

#2 Baking cookies together

This is a fun activity that will keep their minds occupied while bonding through the process of baking something delicious! You can make it even more exciting by adding sprinkles, chocolate chips, and other toppings to create unique designs for each cookie. Or, you could even consider playing around with isomalt sugar substitute to make fun shapes. For example, you could add M&Ms in different colors so they look like flowers, or use peanut butter cups as eyes for monsters! If this sounds too difficult, then just start with plain sugar cookies because everyone loves those anyway.

#3 Go on a nature scavenger hunt

This is an easy activity that will keep them busy for hours! Just print out the list of items below:

  • Acorn
  • A leaf from a tree with green leaves only (no yellow or brown)
  • Pinecone without any bark attached
  • Rock bigger than your child’s hand and smaller than their foot-about half size should do it!

This can be done by having each person grab one item at random, so everyone has something different, which makes it even more fun! If you’re feeling ambitious, then try making up some rules such as ‘if someone finds an acorn first, then they get to keep it’ or ‘the person who finds the leaf wins.’

#4 Have a movie marathon

This is always a classic and can be enjoyed by people of all ages! So pick out some of your kids’ favorite movies, or go for something new that you haven’t seen before. Either way, make sure to get plenty of snacks and drinks ready because they are going to need them! And if you want to really make it special, then put up some decorations or even build them their own little fort out of blankets and pillows.

In conclusion, these are just a few ideas of things that you can do with your kids this weekend. But the possibilities are endless, so get creative and have some fun!
