One of the biggest challenges of being a mompreneur and running your own business is that of getting new customers interested in your products and services, which is why I’ve put together this list of tried-and-tested methods for doing just that. I hope they help you to get more clients and grow your business going forward…

Ask for referrals

If you’re looking for a cheap way to get new customers, it doesn’t come much cheaper than asking for referrals. Simply reach out to your existing customers and ask them to give you a review or refer their friends and family to your business. In return, you will need to offer them a discount code or a freebie or something to incentivize them, but it will be worth it when those new customers start showing up.

Improve your products

If you have a bit more money to throw at the problem, improving your products and services is a pretty effective way of encouraging new customers. Whether you switch to Blinco from a ccell cart when making your vapes or you start using cashmere instead of sheep’s wool in your sweaters, anything you can do to make your product better for the customer will see you attracting more of them – you may even be able to break out into a more expensive market if you play it right.

Networking

Yes, it’s old-fashioned, but networking is still a very effective way of finding new customers, especially if you are selling B2B. Meeting new people gives you a chance to tell them who you are and what your business does, and if you make a good impression, that could lead to a new client or three. Attend as many conference and events as you can and pretty soon you’ll be very well known and the go-to within you niche – it can really work.

Approach influencers

Approaching influencers and either paying them to promote your stuff (probably expensive) or sending them a few freebies in order for a mention (likely to be much cheaper) is an ideal way to reach thousands, potentially millions of people online, which is why it is pretty much a no-brainer at this point, even if you will have to speculate to accumulate. Just make sure that you take a look at their figures and ensure that you are getting a good deal from them that is likely to lead to more engagement with your business.

Offer incentives

Offering incentives such as 50 percent off their first order, is a very good way of encouraging people to take the plunge and try your business out for the first time, but it can often annoy loyal customers so make sure you show them some love from time to time too.

Become an expert

Becoming an expert in your niche is as simple as starting a blog and organizing a few podcast/video/TV appearances, and once you do it, your name will be all over the internet, linked to your business. You will also become a trusted source and this is great for encouraging more people to buy from you.

Go out there and get those new customers!
