Austin weather is crazy!! This past week it was 80 degrees and the next day all of us Texan kids were pretending it was real snow falling from the sky (when in reality it was a mixture of flurries, sleet, and rain)! Then don’t get me started with the summer when there are 21 100+ degree days in a row. Who can be outside during those days? What can you do when the weather is so unpredictable and you still have to entertain your little ones who want to run around and get some energy out (and not to mention that helps us too because if all works out they will take a nap after wearing themselves out). This is where there are some pretty awesome spots around Austin that are indoor play gyms or entertainment. Some are great educational places as well. This is a massive list of my favorite locations all over the Austin area. These are all indoors but I will also be writing up a post about my favorite parks as the weather gets nicer and we can enjoy the nice weather before summer hits 😀
Almost Grown Cafe
This is a new spot on my radar and I am absolutely 100% in love with this concept and place! They have two locations in town one in Cedar Park and one in Dripping Springs (which I need to visit because they also have an ice cream shop!) The setup is absolutely amazing. They have toys all over with a lot of pretend toys and learn through play toys, while the coffee shop type seating all around allows you to keep an eye on your littles wherever you sit. The small tables make it great for getting together with some friends (playdate time!) and having a chance to sip some coffee and get to chat. Isn’t that what we all really long for?!
They have a coffee bar which is brewed coffee and all kinds of add-ins. They also have a great assortment of snacks for the kiddos and drinks that will keep kiddos and adults alike happy. Right now the owner is running a promo for a free coffee with entrance!!

Little Land
Little Land offers pediatric therapy at their locations. They offer a unique play gym that allows the littles to explore with their imaginations and bodies. They have indoor jungle gyms, swings, and many more things. They have a special area for infants to roll, look around and observe, crawl and start climbing.
This has been one of our favorite places since #techkidalex was young. They also offer summer camps starting a young age which is really awesome.
The Lake Creek location offers a seating area and a handful of drinks and snacks.
I believe they started at the North Austin location but now have locations all over central Texas and beyond.

Thinkery
The children’s museum in Austin, the Thinkery, is a favorite. The drive for us is longer since it is not in the north area of town but it is always worthwhile!
They have galleries for all ages and everything is hands-on. Some of our favorite areas include the water area (the littles will get wet if they like water I always bring a change of clothes for #techkidalex, the farmers market area full of chickens laying eggs and kitchen area. We also like a room that is all about physics and how balls move on different ramps. For #technobaby2 we still visit the infant area where he can roll around, practice some tummy time and lots to explore while in a safe environment. This is an enclosed area of the museum so since siblings are allowed I don’t have to worry about #techkidalex leaving and exploring another area. There is also a great area outside with a huge playscape that is a favorite to lots of kids. The museum is a must-visit when in Austin with kids. It has something for kids of all ages.
#techkidalex loves trains wherever he goes #techkidalex’s favorite area is probably the splash area #technobaby2 turn to play with water

Aquarium
The Austin Aquarium is fairly new to the scene. They just celebrated their 5th anniversary in December. This aquarium is great for kids, it is very hands-on, where you can feed just about any of the animals, and interact with all the animals around. They have aviaries where the birds fly all around and you can feed the birds and have them land right on top of you. Interacting with so many types of animals in one place is definitely a treat.

Inflatable Wonderland
Inflatable Wonderland is a gem inside one of Austin’s popular malls, Lakeline Mall. This indoor playground has a number of inflatable bouncy houses and games that can entertain little ones for hours. I believe it is Christian based since there are bible quotes and various mementos that seem Christian. It is a fun place that we enjoyed. #techkidalex especially loved the arcade area and electronic motorcycle. The wristbands are good for all day so you can go play, leave have lunch at chick-fil-a and go back and play more.

Playmazing is another bouncy indoor playground. While Inflatable Wonderland has more bouncy houses, the playscapes at Playmazing are more open and you can easily see the kiddos from various locations. They have a toddler/infant area that is more aligned for younger ages. They have a giant slide, a giant climbing playscape and lots of unique areas.
